Rwanda DeGeneres’ Campus Plants A Tree In Memory Of Twitch

The team of Ellen Degeneres Gorilla conservation campus in Rwanda planted a tree on their first anniversary in loving memory of the late Stephen Twitch Boss who committed suicide last year. The tree was planted to have the memory of Twitch boss forever remembered at Ellen Degeneres campus in Rwanda.

Twitch joined the Ellen Degeneres show in 2014 as a guest DJ. He later secured the position of co-executive producer in 2020. Unfortunately, this was short-lived when the show came to an end in May 2022. It was six months after the closure of Ellen Degeneres’ show that tWitch committed suicide.

Once he received the news that the show was coming to an end, tWitch admitted that it was still hard for him to take it in. The show had been a major part of his life. Besides the fame at the Ellen Degeneres Show, tWitch had become famous for his iconic dance moves.

The Ellen Degeneres campus was opened in February 2022 making February 2023 their first year anniversary. Though the campus is mainly focusing on mountain gorilla conservation among other conservation efforts, there is no single mountain gorilla found at the Ellen DeGeneres campus.

The Ellen Degeneres campus hosts the official headquarters of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund. It also has state-of-the-art laboratories, a scientific conservation library, and a meeting space for visitors. It also has a section for student housing.

Mountain gorillas are some of the wildlife species that were once critically endangered but due to the conservation efforts that are partly attributed to the gorilla trekking in Rwanda in partnership with the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund, mountain gorillas have shifted from “critically endangered” to “endangered”
